How It Works: You can communicate with your dog within a range of up to 100 yards using the enclosed hand-held transmitter to signal the enclosed receiver, located on your pet's collar. You control whether to send a tone only or a static stimulation. You adjust the level of stimulation to your dog's temperament with the thumb knob on the unit. A great tool for obedience training and to stop unwanted behavior.

My Personal Testimony: I find this product really works for all training needs including basic obedience training. It is TERRIFIC for dogs with problem behaviors like CHASING (cars, cats, chickens, etc.), DIGGING (gardens, under fences, etc.), JUMPING UP (over fences, on guests, on counters and table tops). I have used this kind of product to SAVE otherwise unadoptable dogs by eliminating a specific problem behavior.

I think this product is especially effective for two reasons:

1) Your dog associates the correction with the problem behavior, not with you, so that your dog does not learn to fear you.

2) Your dog is not likely to be confused about what the problem behavior is because the correction is delivered instantly at the scene of the behavior from a remote distance of up to 100 yards. If the problem behavior is chasing, for example, you don't have to wait to correct your dog until after you have called him and caught him, by which time he may not understand which behavior was problematic or have forgotten what he did in the first place!
